Waynesville, Betty Farmer Early, 85, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Autumn Care Nursing.
A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Ila Brooks Farmer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Dee Early, who passed in 1997. Betty was a teacher’s assistant with the Haywood County Schools for 20 years. Upon her retirement, Betty continued to volunteer with Hazelwood Elementary School assisting children with reading and writing. Betty was a beloved member of Allens Creek Baptist Church. She was an active volunteer within the children’s ministry since her early teenage years. Betty's love for the Lord has allowed her to influence thousands of young lives.
Betty is survived by one son, Dennis Early, and his wife, Cindy of Waynesville; a sister, Winne Pressley, and husband, Roy of Waynesville; three grandchildren, Joshua Seth Early, (Heather), Heather Phillips, (Jesse), and Hannah Burch, (Gabe); and three great-grandchildren, Braxton Early, Clay Phillips and Lucas Burch.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Allens Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Scotty Patrick and Reverend Seth Early officiating. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Allens Creek Baptist Church.
