Carol Pearce

April 8, 1958 — February 9, 2021

Asheville

Carol Diane Pearce, 62, of Candler transitioned to her heavenly home after a valiant battle with cancer on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at Memorial Mission Hospital.

Diane was born in Catawba County but resided in Candler for 40 years. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Arthur James Pearce and Carol Shahan Pearce. In her younger years, Diane and her sister would always lend a helping hand to any creatures in need and loved listening to music together. The springtime was her favorite time of year as she enthusiastically looked forward to the return of the hummingbirds to the feeders on her deck. She enjoyed spending time in nature and the opportunity to gather with family and friends for picnics in Pisgah Forest. Diane and her mother enjoyed adventurous excursions together and were inseparable best friends. She cherished her role as a mother and dedicated the final 19 years of her life to raising her son.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Christina Pearce of Asheville; son, Kaleb Pearce of Candler; sister, Susan McNabb and her husband, Daniel of Hendersonville; brother, Arthur Pearce and his wife, Ingrid of Panama City, FL; one grandchild, Ashton Early; four nieces, Stacey Edwards, Alicia McNabb, Lauren LaBarre and Egan Hill; two nephews, Dale Pearce and Kaden Curtis.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

The care of Ms. Pearce has been entrusted to Wells Funeral Home of Candler
