Thomas Roberts

Waynesville, Thomas Jackson Roberts, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at his residence.

A native of Iredell County, he was a son of the late Robert and Callie Whitener Roberts.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Jerry Roberts.  Tom proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp.  He was a member of Ninevah Baptist Church, Waynesville Masonic Lodge #359 and a former member of the Waynesville Sunrise Rotary Club.  Tom retired after 20 years of service from Belk and was the owner of Badcock Furniture of Waynesville for 25 years, along with his wife, Amy.

Tom is survived by his wife of 38 years, Amy R. Roberts; daughter, Carla Roberts Honeycutt; son, Tommy Lee Roberts (Sonja); sister, June Brooks (Jack); three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Ninevah Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Leslie officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery, Veterans Section with full military rites conducted by the Marines Corp and VFW-American Legion.  The family will receive friends from 11:30 until 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
