Ada West

Haywood County-Ada T. West, age 86, died on Thursday, November 30, 2006 after declining health. A native of Erwin, TN, she had lived in Haywood County since childhood. She was the daughter of the late John R. and Hattie Ann Duffey Talley and was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Harvey West, who died in 1994; two daughters, Janice Burch and Elizabeth Evans Miller; a son, James E. West; three sisters, Pearl, Mae, and Lassie; and six brothers, Rex, Lester, Jess, Ike, Bill, and Harry. She was retired from Wellco Corporation in 1982 after 32 years of loyal service. She is survived by three daughters, Joyce Swanger and her husband, Jay, of Dawsonville, GA, Marie Morrison and Dorothy Price, both of Chester, SC; two sons, Floyd H. West and his wife, Sherry, of Waynesville, and Troy West and his wife, Phyllis, of Balsam; one brother, John R. Talley, Jr. of Bridgeton, NJ; 24 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; and 33 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 5, 2006 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Johnny Swanger officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
