Addie Brookshire

Canton-Addie Nell Ledford Brookshire, age 83 of Cresent Loop died Thursday, May 11, 2006 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Obed and Helen Hicks Ledford. She was preceded in death by her husband Garland William Brookshire who died in 1986. Mrs. Brookshire was a homemaker and member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She is survived by three sons, James Brookshire and his wife Pat of Severn, MD, Morris Brookshire and Roby Brookshire and his wife Linda; all of Canton., two sisters, Dorothy Cable of Canton and Mildred Powell of Palatka, FL, 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 13, 2006 at the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with Reverend Perry Brindley officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday at the Waynesville funeral home.
