Addie Moore

December 15, 1917 — April 23, 2005

Waynesville-Addie Faye Rider Moore, age 87 of Old Balsam Road, died on Saturday, April 23, 2005 at Chestnut Park Retirement Center. A native and life-long resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late John William and Menervia Jane Sheralin Rider. She was preceded in death by her husband James Edgar Moore who died in 1989, two daughters Dorothy Faye Moody and Barbara Willina Worley and one son James Oliver Moore, sister Lethia Alverson. She was a member of Pleasant Balsam Baptist Church. She is survived by four sons, John Monroe Moore of Waynesville, Wade Neil Moore of Newton, NC, Gary Bruce Moore of Gomfask, MI, Edgar Hugh Moore of Danville, VA, two daughters Mary Jane Finney of Newton, NC and Pansy Barnes of Claremont, NC; a sister Ruth Jennings of Knoxville, TN; 23 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday April 26, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services with Reverend Ray Sharpe officiating. Burial will follow at Red Bank Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home of son 2252 Old Balsam Road, Waynesville. Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie Finney, Gary Finney, Jeff Moore, Gary Moody, and Wayne Broom.
