Adelbert Young

Adelbert Ray Young, age 87, of 92 Doctors Drive, died on Sunday, April 16, 2006, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Waverly, Iowa, he was the son of the late Roy and Jennie Gustafson Young. Adelbert loved his family and living in the mountains of North Carolina. He was stationed in London during World War II as a ball-turret gunner/bombardier. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dolores Brown Young; three daughters, Lorna Sarasin, and her husband, Douglas, of Canton, Nancy Young of Waynesville, and Lisa Taylor, of Austell, GA and one sister, Mary Beard, of Floyd, IA. No services are planned. Memorials may be made to Clyde First Responders, c/o Clyde Fire Department, PO Box 552, Clyde, NC 28721. Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Canton is in charge of arrangements.
