Clyde, Adeline Best Holder, age 75, of Ray Best Road, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at MedWest Haywood. A native of Haywood County she was the daughter of the late Ray and Margaret Sanford Best. She retired from Owens-Corning Manufacturing Company as a secretary and was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. Adeline was very involved in church, especially the United Methodist Women. She loved gardening and working in her flowers. She also enjoyed spending time with and caring for her family and her dog "Traveler." She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Carroll (CE) Holder; two daughters, Stephanie Johns and her husband, Ron, of Mableton, Georgia; and Sherri Reynolds and her partner, Christi Masters, of Tucker, Georgia; one sister, Janet Moseley and her husband, Darryl, of Clyde; three brothers, Bill Best and his wife, Irmgard, of Berea, Kentucky and Dan Best and his wife, Judy and John O. Best and his wife, Virginia, all of Clyde; four grandchildren Keith Johns and his wife, Courtney, of Austell, Georgia, Kristen Kraemer and her husband, Justin of Mableton, Georgia, and Mason and Dillon Reynolds of Tucker, Georgia; two great-grandchildren, Bryan Yelverton and Keeley Johns of Austell, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Reverend R. Curran Welch and Reverend Kitty Crain officiating. Burial will follow at Upper Crabtree Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church or Upper Crabtree Community Cemetery, 1949 Upper Crabtree Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
