Al Parker

Allison Franklin "Al" Parker, age 89, died Sunday, February 19, 2012 at MedWest Haywood. A native of Dade County, Florida, he was a son of the late Franklin Clifford and Jennie Hortense Pinder Parker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Belle VanRyn Parker, who died in 1990; and his second wife, Mildred Shaw Parker, who died in 2000. Al was a member of Bible Truth Baptist Church. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He is survived by a daughter, Jill Parker Joyner and her husband, Brad, of Canton; two sons, Paul Allison Parker and his wife, Clair, of Lilburn, Georgia, and Don Michael Parker and his wife, Sandy, of Avon Park, Florida; three sisters, Rowena Holland, Lucile Grant, and Helen Hilke; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2012 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Brad Joyner officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
