Alawayne Hall

Waynesville-Alawayne Phillips Hall, age 79, of 228 Dock Ratcliff Road, died Tuesday, September 09, 2003 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Pearlie Van and Rachel Ratcliff Phillips. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Dwight Hall, who died in 1978. She was a former employee of Wellco, and at the time of her death, she was administrative assistant for the Waynesville Housing Authority. She was a member of Ratcliff Cove Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, James Dwight ''Jimmie'' Hall and Terry William Hall, both of Waynesville; and two granddaughters, Suzanne and Jamie Hall.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2003 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Charles Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the services and at other times will be at the home of Jimmie Hall, 284 Dock Ratcliff Road, Waynesville. Pallbearers will be Jerry Cutshaw, Vaughn Siske, Jimmie Roberts, Dale Glance, and James and Brian Noland.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to the Ratcliff Cove Cemetery Fund, c/o Lawrence Davis, 1707 Ratcliff Cove Road, Waynesville, NC 28786 or the Haywood County Animal Shelter, 245 Hemlock Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
