Albert Devlin

Waynesville, NC - Albert J. Devlin of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Jonathan Creek, North Carolina died on Sunday, August 7, 2011. He was the devoted husband of Jeanne for fifty-three beautiful years; beloved father of daughter, Cathleen, of Delray, Florida; and three sons, Timothy and his wife, Amy, and Patrick and his wife, Annette, all of Boca Raton, Florida and Peter and his wife, Holly, of Rockwell, North Carolina. Al was the proud grandfather of Joshua, Casey, and Robert and was also survived by a brother, Robert M. Devlin, of Manhasset, New York. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Devlin. Mr. Devlin was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and an executive with Walter B. Cooke Funeral Homes in New York. Al touched so many lives with his kindness, generosity, and laughter. A funeral mass will be offered at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church, Maggie Valley, North Carolina. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Wells Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Waynesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Al to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
