Albert Rhodes

"1920 ~ 2018"

Clyde - Albert Henry Rhodes, age 97, passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at the VA Medical Center in Asheville.

A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Frances Nelson Downs and was also preceded in death by a son, Roger Henry Rhodes. He was a retired United States Air Force veteran with 30 years of service and was also retired from the Town of Waynesville. He was a Chaplain with #89 Keith Mehaffey Chapter. Albert was a member of Woodland Baptist Church.

Albert is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marie Ledford Rhodes; a daughter, Rose Rathbone and her husband, Junior, of Canton; two sons, James Arthur Rhodes and his wife, Theresa Mae, of Clyde and John David Rhodes and his wife, Reginia, of Morganton; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Harry Worley officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
