Alda Bradley

Waynesville, Alda Buenna Smith Bradley, 92, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at The Homestead. A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late William and Susan Reece Moore. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Bryan Smith, Sr. in 1984; a daughter, Linda Varner; sister, Dorothy Haddock; and brothers, Coy and Hugh L. Moore. Alda was employed at Dayco, Inc. for 18 years and worked at Leon's TV as a bookkeeper. Alda loved spending time with her grandchildren and also enjoyed playing the piano and singing. She was a member of East Waynesville Baptist Church. Alda is survived by her husband of 27 years, Cordell Bradley; a daughter, Jean Mintz and her husband, Paul, of Cleveland, Tennessee; a son, Bryan Smith Jr. and his wife, Carolyn, of Waynesville; a brother, Hall Moore and his wife, Debra, of Marshall; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and one great-great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 20, 2016 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Varner and Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood Healthcare Foundation (Hospice in memo line), 127 Sunset Ridge Road, Clyde, NC 28721.
