Alden Perry

December 22, 1926 — October 3, 2005

Alden Park Perry was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho on December 22, 1926. He was the youngest of 4 children born to Albert Zabina Perry and Elizabeth Esther Park, both deceased. Our father and husband was one of the most loving, caring, and gentle beings ever created. Over the years he shared many stories of an adventurous and mischievous boyhood growing up in a small farming community filled with wonderful family and neighborhood gatherings. He was a quiet and loving young man who's family taught him the importance of hard work and family responsibility. Blessed with a brilliant mind, he was always eager to learn whatever he could. He acquired several degrees, most notably in Business and Aeronautical Engineering. His education paid off by allowing him to work in the aeronautics field where he participated as an engineer in the Gemini, Apollo, Apollo-Soyuz, and Space Shuttle programs. His engineering training allowed him to be involved with 2 things he loved best, Space and Flight. He held his own flying license and took his family on several trips where he served as pilot. He was a devoted husband and father and his family's hope and prayer is that he will always know how much he is loved and respected by his children and all those that knew him. He will be greatly missed. Fly high until we meet again. Alden is survived by his loving eternal companion, Sally Perry, which he credits with being the most influential person in his life, his daughters Laura Perry-Hipps, Allison Forciea, and Lisa Jenkins, his son George Perry, his sister Voris Wheeler, 15 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Alden was preceded in death by his son, Russell Albert Perry. Funeral services will be held at 3pm Thursday in the chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, 3401 Sweeten Creek Rd, Arden, NC. The family will receive friends at 2pm the same day at the church. Arrangements are being coordinated by Wells Funeral home in Canton, NC.
