Alene Early

Conover, Alene Moss Early, age 83, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Catawba Valley Medical Center. A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Fannie Smith Moss. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Dover Early, who died in 2014. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Clyde Moss. Alene was a member of Grandview Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir and working at the church. She enjoyed canning and having her grandchildren and great-grandchildren come for visits. Alene is survived by one daughter, Pamela "Cathy" White, and her husband, Philip, of Marion, NC; one son, Ronny Early, and his wife, Jackie, of Conover; one brother, Billy Jack Moss, and his wife, Mildred; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Grandview Baptist Church with Reverend Barry Willett, Reverend Davis Hooper and Reverend Mark Golden officiating. Burial will follow at Buchanan Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grandview Baptist Church, 1562 Allens Creek Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.
