Alene Greene

Alene Treadway Greene left her earthly body on Sunday, August 24, 2008, for her heavenly life. Her sisters and daughter were with her as she drew her final breath and left our world. Alene was a native of Madison County and was the daughter of the late George and Grace Sawyer Treadway. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, George Treadway, Jr., and her half-brother, Cletus Treadway; and step-sister, Sally Roberts. She was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, Woody Rogers and Carl Greene. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Dill and her husband, Thomas, of Webster; her sisters and best friends, Clara Byrd and Marie Pinner of Asheville; a half-brother, Dolph Treadway; her grandson, Zach Dill of St. Petersburg, FL; her granddaughter, Anna Dill of Mendocino, CA; nephews, niece, and many faithful friends. Alene will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was a kind and gentle lady whose mission in life was to give to others and to serve her God. Alene was a member of Crestview Baptist Church and had resided at Silver Bluff Nursing Home for nine months. A memorial service will be held for Alene in late September at Silver Bluff Chapel. Her ashes will be returned to her birthplace. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Silver Bluff Employee Assistance Program, 100 Silver Bluff Lane, Canton, NC 28716.
