Alex Robinson

LEICESTER – Alex Jackson Robinson, age 21, went to be with God on Sunday, October 23, 2011. God needed another rose bud for his garden. A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was the son of Gerald and Gayle Young Robinson. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Gertrude Young and his paternal grandfather, Jack Gentry Robinson. He graduated from Erwin High School in 2008 and from Asheville Buncombe Community College in 2010. Alex was a member of the Leicester Fire Department and Zion Hill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Emma Lue Brookshire Robinson; brothers and sisters, Andrew Cody Robinson of the home, Jason Dimsdale and his wife, Kristen, of Asheville; Kristi Dimsdale of Black Mountain, Stacey Polk and her husband, Dee, of Arden and Eric Dimsdale and his wife, Trish, of Leicester; and numerous aunts and uncles. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28, 2011, at Zion Hill Baptist Church with the Reverend Bobby Smith and Chief Tim Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p. m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leicester Fire Department, P. O. Box 100 Leicester, NC 28748.
