Alice Arrington

January 9, 1943 — November 11, 2005

Waynesville-Alice Marie Overman Arrington, 62 of Old Golf Course Road, Waynesville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 11, 2005. She fought a long battle with cancer and will be missed by all her family and friends. She was a native of Haywood Co. and was the daughter of the late Mabel Chapman Overman who passed in 1968 and Glenn Overman who passed in 1996. She was a member of the Phillipsville Church of God of Prophecy in Canton. She was a homemaker, loved spending time in her flowerbeds and with her granddaughter. She worked 12 years for the Haywood Co. Board of Election at the West Waynesville precinct. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Paul F. Arrington, two daughters; Tina Best and Jim Evans; Teresa Arrington and Roger Carver of Waynesville; one granddaughter Samantha Nicole Carver; and a pet dog "Rodney"; one brother, Melvyn Pressley and his wife Peggy of Leciester; two sisters, Joyce White of Candler and Veron Hubner of Leciester. Family will be receiving friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville on Saturday, November 12, 2005. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2005 at the Waynesville Chapel with Reverend Dr. Henry B. Grimes Jr. officiating. At other times the family will be at the home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church Building Fund, Church of God of Prophecy, 860 Terrace Drive, Canton NC 28716.
