Alice Bartlett

Alice Medlin Bartlett, age 98, passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Maggie Valley Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Cherokee County, she was the daughter of the late Jake F. and Julia Mintz Davis. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Medlin, who died in 1979 and her second husband, Roy H. Bartlett, who died in 1993; seven brothers; and four sisters. She was a member of Dutch Cove Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Grace Medlin of Canton and Barbara Wright of Clyde; two sons, Jerry Davis of Canton and William Medlin, Jr. of Marietta, Georgia; two sisters, Mazie Hunt of Jasper, Georgia and Mary Lou Swanson McKillip of Marble; a brother, Lawrence Davis of Marble; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Pat Davis. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Roy Rigdon officiating and Brian Johnson delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow at Pisgah View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
