Alice Howell

Waynesville-Alice Clark Howell, age 68, died Saturday, December 10, 2005 at Duke Medical Center. She is survived by her husband Jack Roger Howell; two daughters, Linda Lane of Cary, and Vicky Cox of Waynesville; one sister Ruth Overman of Canton; four brothers; Donald, Jess "Benny" Clark of Canton, Austin and Jack Cogburn of Canton; three grandchildren Steven Hilton, Allison Hilton, and Mark Cox; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Hilton, Kimberly Hilton and Landon Perry. She was a native of Haywood County, and the daughter of the late Charles and Floy Mae Garnes Clark. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Tommy Clark. She loved her family, grandchildren, gardening and the outdoors. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 17, 2005 at the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes with the Reverend Edward Couser officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday, December 16th at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Shannon and Michael Wood, Richard Lanning, Bobby Joe Clark, Kerwin Overman and Hugh Phillips
