Alice Underwood

Waynesville, Alice Cabe Underwood, age 76, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at The Homestead. A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Ray Norman and Mattie Keener Cabe and was also preceded in death by her son, Dale Lee Underwood. Alice enjoyed flea markets, bargain shopping and traveling the roads with Sam. Alice is survived by her husband, of 57 years, Sammy Underwood; daughter, Mary Stevens and her husband, Mike, of Canton; brother, Ralph Cabe and his wife, Linda, of Candler; three grandchildren, Michael Stevens, Samantha Burnette and Allen Allison; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home and at other times, at the home of Mary and Mike Stevens, 189 Hilltop Farm Road, Canton.
