Alisha Cathey

Waynesville, Alisha Cathey, passed away on her 45th birthday on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Betty Cooper Norman of Waynesville and the late Jerry Wayne Norman, Sr. She was preceded in death by a brother, Heath Wayne Norman. Alisha was a vibrant woman who lived life with passion. She was generous and giving to all and would help anyone in need. Alisha cherished her role as wife and mother, always placing her family first. She enjoyed trips to the beach and camping with her family as well as clogging during her younger years. She held a special place in her heart for animals and will be missed beyond measure by all who treasure her memory. In addition to her mother, left to treasure her memory are her husband of 15 years, John Cathy; her son, Connor Lane Cathey; a brother, Jerry Wayne Norman, Jr. of Waynesville; sister-in-law, Brucie Green and husband, Lloyd, of Sylva; brother-in-law, Charles Martin Cathey and his wife, Stephanie, of Canton, Georgia; maternal grandmother, Laura Gunter of Waynesville; mother-in-law, Patricia Cassle and her husband, Glen, of Sylva; nieces, Addison and Kenley Norman; as well as many other beloved family members and special friends.
