Allan Wilde

Maggie Valley, NC- Allan Lloyd Wilde, age 86, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at his residence. A native of Wausau, Wisconsin, he had resided in Haywood County for the past twelve years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Viola Rajek; stepfather, Eddie Rajek; and two grandsons, Jeremy Wilde and Dustin Sicking. He was a World War II veteran serving in the US Army/Air Force as well as the US Navy. Allan loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid reader and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and gardening and also enjoyed spending time with his constant companion, Dollie Marie (his little Pekingese). He is survived by his wife of more than 62 years, Shirley Wilde; five daughters, Shari Pfeifer (Randy) of Loveland, Colorado, Viola Lockwood (Roger) of Sarasota, Florida, Dewetta Sicking (Daniel) of Clayton, North Carolina, Patricia Morris (Ellis) of Maggie Valley, NC; and Bonita Tino (Gary) of Westchester, Ohio; two sons, Allan Wilde (Heidi) of Swansea, Massachusetts and Richard Wilde of Palmetto, Florida; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2013 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 5202, American Legion Post 47 and US Navy. A time of sharing will be from 2:30 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service.
