Lake Junaluska-Allen S. Wilkinson, age 86, of 23 Crescent Drive, died peacefully after a period of declining health, Saturday, June 18, 2005, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. He was born in Alamance County, NC and was the son of the late Allen C. and Sophia Thompson Wilkinson. He was a graduate of Graham High School and completed a year of business school in Greensboro. During his professional career, he was a former business manager for Truitt Manufacturing, a former treasurer and business manager for Greensboro College, business manager of Lake Junaluska Assembly and the Cokesbury Book Store. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville and the Stephen Ministry. He was a former member of the Waynesville Rotary Club and Literacy Council and was a volunteer with the Intentional Growth Center. Allen loved reading good books, playing bridge, eating blueberries, fine stationery, watching birds, crossword puzzles, listening to good music, volunteering at church, flowers and Atlanta Braves baseball. He also loved his family and took pride in his grandchildren. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Mary Anna Brown Wilkinson; two daughters, Beverly W. Schwarzkopf of Broken Arrow OK, Maleta W. Griffin and her husband Woody, of Lake Junaluska; one sister, Nancy Wagoner and her husband Jim, of Sneeds Ferry, NC; four grandchildren, Robert Schwarzkopf and his wife Patti of Pompano Beach, FL, Jennifer Brumley and her husband Thomas of Moore OK, Matthew Griffin and his wife Tita, of Studio City, CA and Alec Griffin and his wife Jessica of Mandeville, LA; two great-grandchildren, Cameron and Riley Clark of Moore, OK. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at First United Methodist Church of Waynesville, with Reverend Dr. W. Lyn Sorrells and Reverend Dr. Garland Young, officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. At private family interment service will be held. Memorials may be made to, First United Methodist Church, P.O.
