Alma Fore

Alma Layman Fore, age 91, died Friday, March 31, 2006 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Oscar and Ollie Grooms Layman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Fore, who died in 1992; a son, Darrell Fore and two brothers, Charles and Hollis Layman. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Alma loved her family, gardening and cooking. She is survived by three sons, James R. Fore and his wife, Brenda, of Cruso, Gary Fore and his wife, Nancy, of Annapolis, MD and Gregg Fore and his wife, Margaret, of Brevard; a brother, Oscar Layman, Jr. of Bethel; eight grandchildren, Susan Deese, J. R. Fore, II, Ken Fore, Kara Flores, Chris Fore and Kevin Fore, Shane Cox and Adrian Clark as well as ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 3, 2006 at Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby and Reverend Greg Cullen officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Sunday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Pallbearers will be grandsons and Paul Cox. Memorials may be made to Haywood County Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 1275, Canton, NC 28716.
