Alveta Hardin

Canton - Alveta Cody Hardin, age 92, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Butte, Montana, she was the daughter of the late William Roy and Mary Ed Burnette Cody. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Hardin, Sr., and a sister, Willie Mae Wiggins. She is survived by three sons, Roy Hardin, Tommy Hardin and his wife, Brenda, and W. R. Hardin and his wife, Betty; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Alveta was a member of Canton Wesleyan Church, and enjoyed spending time with her hobbies , oil painting and ceramics. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday August 3, 2011, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Perry Hines and Reverend Kristy Hardin Burnette officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood County Rescue Squad-Canton, P. O. Box 1275, Canton, NC 28716.
