Amanda Messer

Waynesville, Amanda Dawn Messer, age 33, of Morning View Drive, passed way unexpectedly on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at her residence. A native of Swain County, she had lived most of her life in Haywood County. She was the daughter of Peter Hilliard Green and Teresa Haney Moody. Amanda loved spending time with her children, especially outdoors, and also enjoyed cooking, gardening, music, and animals. In addition to her mother, Amanda is survived by her children, Christina Ineva Messer, James Everette Messer and Dalton Elijah Messer, all of the home; a sister, Samantha Moody; one brother, Jerry Green; maternal grandparents, Ernest and Evelyn Haney; a niece, Desiree Green, all of Waynesville; and two aunts, Deborah McElrath and her husband, Terry of Waynesville and Martha Miller and her husband, Larry, of Waynesville. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to services.
