Waynesville-Amy Cogdill Worsham, age 87, of 187 Worsham Drive, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home. A native of Jackson County, she had lived in Haywood County since 1938. One of eleven children, she was the last surviving child of the late Samuel C. and Lula Allmond Cogdill. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, T. Hunter Worsham, who passed away in 1974. She was a member of Hazelwood Baptist Church and was also a member of the Joy Club of First Baptist Church of Canton, Friendship Club of First Baptist Church of Waynesville, WHO Group of First United Methodist Church of Waynesville, and Haywood Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. She is survived by her godchild, Steven T. McClure, and his wife, Karen, and their children, Molly, Sadie, and Isley, all of Waynesville; four nieces, Peggy Huffman, Jean Sneed, Tina Stovall, and Mildred Phillips; and three nephews, Lawrence Case, Sam Cogdill, and James Jones. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2005 at Green Hill Cemetery with Reverend Charles Dean officiating. Memorials may be made to Hazelwood Baptist Church, 265 Hazelwood Avenue, Waynesville, NC 28786 or Broyhill Baptist Children's Home, 111 Sneed Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
