Waynesville, Andrew Haney, age 81, passed away on Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Canton Christian Convalescent Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Jess Cordell and Mary Matthews Haney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Haney, who died in 1971 and his second wife, Ruby Haney, who died in 1996 and three brothers. He was a United States Army veteran. Andrew retired from Wellco with 40 years service and was a member of Crabtree Baptist Church. During his stay at the Brian Center and Canton Christian Convalscent Center, Andrew enjoyed his visits with his friends and loved leading the devotion during lunch hour. He was survived by a daughter, Lisa Jenkins and her husband, David, of Waynesville; sister, Gertrude Chambers of Waynesville; brother, Marshall Haney and his wife, Pauline, of Waynesville; one grandson, Edward Jenkins, and his wife, Amber and three great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Braydon and Payton Jenkins. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Crabtree Baptist Church with Reverend Eddie Dietz and Reverend Matt Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in the Crabtree Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Edward Jenkins, 108 Hyatt Street Waynesville.
