Angela Forame

Waynesville, Angela Dorothy Collura Forame, age 99, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011 at Autumn Care. A native of Sicily, Italy, and a former resident of Boynton Beach, Florida, she had resided in Haywood County since 2000. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Annetenta Collura and was also preceded in death by her husband, Colonel Peter Raymond Forame, US Army retired, who died in 1984 and her son, 1st Lieutenant Peter Charles Forame, US Army. She was an immigrant to Ellis Island and spoke five different languages. She graduated from New York University and taught school in New York City to handicapped children in their homes. Angela traveled all over the world with her husband and family. She was a member of St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church in Maggie Valley. She is survived by one daughter, Rosanne Forame Asbell and her husband, John, of Waynesville and one granddaughter, Catherine Anne Myers and her husband, Steaven Ray, of Missouri. A private memorial mass will be held at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church. Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
