Angela Woody

Waynesville, Angela Cogdill Woody, age 49, of 155 Wilkinson Pass Lane, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at MedWest Haywood. A native of Bryson City, she had resided in Waynesville since 1968, she was the daughter of Clifford Cogdill and the late Margaret Bolden Cogdill. Angela was a graduate of Tuscola High School. She was a Haywood County 911 dispatcher for three years and worked for Bi-Lo as a customer service representative. Angela enjoyed traveling and loved camping with her son, Andrew, at Jekyll Island in Georgia. She was also a collector of dolls and enjoyed selling items on E-Bay. In addition to her father, she is survived by a son, Andrew Woody; one sister, Debbie Pruett, and her husband, Donald, of Waynesville; a special cousin, Diane Honeycutt, and her husband, Ronnie, of Asheville; a loving cousin, Michelle Honeycut Harding and her husband, Jason, and their son, Levi; and a host of special church friends and family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 on Monday, May 13, 2013 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Dale Wheeler and Reverend Jody Shuford officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Sherriff Greg Christopher, Chief Jeff Haynes, Captain Jason Smiley, Deputy Doug Carver, Deputy Kevin Smathers, Deputy Mitchell Rathbone, Sergeant Matt Shell, and Lieutenant Mike Price. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Beth Eden Baptist Church, 240 Hendrix Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
