Anita Campbell

Anita Harkins Campbell, age 54, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 27, 2008 at Mission Hospitals Campus following a brief illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Medford C. and Hazel Hooper Harkins. She was a member of High Street Baptist Church and a former member of the Canton Kiwanis Club. In addition to her husband of 37 years, Jimmy L. Campbell, she is survived by two daughters, Shannon Jones and her husband, Jamie, of Canton and Jamey Ledford and her husband, Dale, of Lawndale, NC; a sister, Peggy Ewart of Clyde; and three granddaughters, Mikayla, Amber, and Autumn Jones. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at High Street Baptist Church with the Reverend Christopher Willett and Reverend Bruce Cayton officiating. Wells Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Canton is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 90 Stiles Road, Canton, NC 28716.
