Anita Warren Biggs

Canton – Anita Smathers Warren Biggs, 71, passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Autumn Care Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

She was a native of Canton, North Carolina, and the daughter of the late Jeptha Thomas (JT) and Helen Wilson Smathers.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Smathers Sutton and brother, William Ralph Smathers.

Anita was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends.  You could always expect to go to her house with something cooking or baking in the kitchen.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Christy Warren Wilson, and husband, Eric Wilson, of Mills River North Carolina and April Warren of Canton; her brother, Lenny Smathers, and his wife, Vicky, of Granite Falls, North Carolina; sister by heart, Sharon Bowers, of Clyde and her husband, Bob Bowers; and two grandchildren, Elijah Wilson and Chloe Wilson.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Tracy Smith officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service.
