Ann Walsh

Balsam, Ann Eden Walsh, age 76 of Balsam, NC, died on Friday, December 4, 2009 at Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, NC. Born August 31, 1933 in Rome, Georgia she moved back to Okeechobee, FL as a small child. The family later moved to Ft. Pierce, FL in 1938, where she graduated from Ft. Pierce High School in 1951. She married William Duncan Walsh in August of 1951. Eden enjoyed her family, friends, gardening and reading and was a member of PEO since 1979. Eden was the daughter of the late Solon Ted and Frances Erma Berry Platt. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Duncan Walsh, her son, William Ted Walsh and her daughter, Kelly Lee Walsh. Eden is survived by her children, Holly Elizabeth Walsh of Jupiter, Florida; Joseph Mark Walsh of Balsam, NC; her grandchildren, William Jason Walsh of San Antonio, Texas; Rebecca Lynne Walsh and William Campbell Walsh of Huntsville, Alabama; her great granddaughter, Sylvia Grace Walsh of San Antonio, Texas; her sister, Venetia P. Rouse of Lithia Springs, Georgia; her nephews, David Charles Olson also of Lithia Springs, Georgia and Dean Clifford Olson of Dallas, Georgia. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2009 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home and at 1:00 on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Ft. Peirce, Florida. The memorial service will honor Ann, as well as her husband, William "Bill" Walsh, and their eldest son, William Ted Walsh. Reverend John S. Liebler will officiate. A reception will follow immediately following the service in the Parrish Hall. Inurnment for the Walsh family will be at Riverview Memorial Park, Pierce, Florida after the reception. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 90 Stiles Road, Canton, NC 28716, Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721, or to one's own charity.
