Ann Williams

Ann Chancy Williams, age 83, died Thursday, February 21, 2008, at The Elizabeth House of Four Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care in Flat Rock. She was a native of Hartford, AL and had resided in Haywood County for the past 57 years. She was the daughter of the late Philip L. and Mary Slocum Chancy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, H. E. "Bill" Williams, who was a longtime employee of Wells Funeral Home. She was a member of Canton Central United Methodist Church. Ann was a former employee of First Union National Bank in Canton. She is survived by two sons, Philip T. Williams and his wife, Nan, of Chapel Hill and Douglas E. Williams of Canton; three grandchildren, Stephanie Nicole, Casey Devan, and Jennifer Michelle Williams. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 24, 2008, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend David Christy officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Newfound Road. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
