Anna Leon

Waynesville-Anna Guth Leon, of 21 Nancy Lane, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at Mountain Area Hospice. A native of Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Benton David and Ida Remita Stewart Guth. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence L. Leon, who died in December 2005. Over their 64 years of marriage, Anna and Lieutenant Colonel Larry Leon lived all over the states and world finally settling in Waynesville. Anna became active in the Lions Club, and with her degree as an academic librarian, volunteered with Friends of the Library. She is survived by one daughter, Patricia A. Long, and her husband, Brian, of Springfield, VA and two grandchildren, Sarah E. Long, of Jackson Hole, WY and Adrienne Long of Lyons, CO. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2006 at First United Methodist Church of Waynesville with Reverend Dr. W. Lyn Sorrells and Reverend Roger Geyer officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
