Anna Wood

"Loving Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother" Waynesville, Anna Lou Wood, age 84, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at CarePartners Hospice Solace Center. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Margaret Russell Massie In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Wood. Anna loved working in her flower garden and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by two daughters, Janice Sharp and her husband, Larry, of Waynesville and Theata Metcalf and her husband, Paul, of Dothan, Alabama; a son Dennis Wood and his wife, Mary, of Villa Rica, Georgia; a sister, Mary Inman of Taylorsville, North Carolina; two brothers, P.A. Massie and his wife, Jean, of Cummings, Georgia and Steve Massie and his wife Darlene, of Franklin, Georgia; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Billy Ferguson officiating.
