Annie Cook

Annie Jo Coleman Cook, age 94, formerly of Trammell Avenue died Thursday, November 1, 2007, following at brief illness. She was a native of Clay County and had lived in Haywood County since 1930. She was the daughter of the late John Oliver and Mary Anne "Birdie" Spivey Coleman. She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Halmond Cook, who died in 1993; three brothers; and five sisters. She was a member of Canton First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She is survived by a son, Calvin D. Cook and his wife, Nancy, of Weaverville; two grandchildren, Melissa Miller and her husband, Robert, of DuPont, WA and Anna Catherine Roberts and her husband, Jim, of Arden; and a great-granddaughter, Rebecca Miller. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, 2007, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Patricia Chaput officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Canton First United Methodist Church, 31 Newfound Street, Canton, NC 28716.
