Annie Freeman

April 26, 1926 — May 11, 2013

"1926 – 2013" Waynesville – Annie Lee Mann Freeman, age 87, of 93 Dawn Drive passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Marvin and Eva Burnette Mann. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Freeman, who died June 3, 1990; a son, James Jackson Freeman; and nine brothers and sisters. Annie Lee was a former employee of American Enka and Silver Bluff Nursing Home and she retired from Champion Papers – Waynesville plant. She was a member of Burnette Cove Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Freeman West (Bruce), of Travelers Rest, South Carolina, and Vera Freeman of Bethel; three sons, Roy Martin Freeman (Bonnie), Richard Keith Freeman (Kimberly), all of Canton, and Johnny Joe Freeman (Monika) of Cadiz, Kentucky; one sister, Frances Mann of Waynesville; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2013 at New Cruso Cemetery with the Reverend Jimmy Moore officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. prior at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
