Annie Ledford

Clyde, Annie Mae Parton Ledford, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late General Dewey and Easter Rathbone Parton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Woodfin Ledford who died in 1980; a son, Charlie Ledford, a daughter, Betty Gunter, a sister, Mary Lou Curry and two brothers, James and William Joseph Parton. Annie Mae loved flowers, working outside, growing tomatoes and canning. She was a faithful member of Belmont Baptist Church where she did not miss a Sunday for 31 years. She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn Ferguson-Nelson and her husband, Dwight, of Waynesville; Barbara Deaver and her husband, Lefaine, of Kentucky and Wanda Coggins and her husband, Ron, of Balsam; four sons, Stanley Ledford of Clyde; Michael Ledford and his wife, Susan, of Clyde; Jimmy Ledford and his wife, Lula, of Canton and Randall Ledford and his wife, Patty, of Clyde; three sisters, Mollie Price and her husband, Jack, of Asheville; Hazel Parton Medford of Waynesville and Rosa Taylor and her husband, Frank, of Candler; 21 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Belmont Baptist Church with Reverend Jimmy Trantham and Reverend Kenny Banks officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Matt, Nathan, Allan, Jason and Jamie Ledford, Tyrel Ferguson and Matt Mitchell. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Justin and Brian Ledford. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
