Annie Mcelroy

Waynesville, Annie Phillips McElroy, 91, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Smoky Mountain Nursing and Rehabilitation. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Temp and Fronnie Messer Phillips. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leonard McElroy, who died in 1997; a son, Dallas Ray McElroy; two sisters, Pearl Owens and Mattie Owens; two brothers, Albert Phillips and Earl Phillips; and great-granddaughter, Heather Jaynes. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Annie is survived by two daughters, Joyce Noland (Pat) of Clyde and Carolyn McElroy of Waynesville; a son, Samuel Lewis McElroy (Shannon) of Waynesville; a sister, Macel Gaddis of Waynesville; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Liberty Baptist Church with Reverend Jerry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
