Annie Paxton Pace died Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was born on July 30, 1920 and was a native of Haywood County and the daughter of the late G. C. and Annie Jones Paxton of Maple Street in Canton. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, William, Wallace, Roy, and Burlin Paxton; and three sisters, Louise, Katrina, and Winnie. Annie attended Canton First Baptist Church and graduated from Canton High School. She attended Erlangler School in Nursing in Chattanooga, TN and also the University of Colorado in Denver. She was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korea and Vietnam Wars as an Army nurse. She is survived by her husband, Sal J. Pace; and two sisters, Josephine Green of Lake Junaluska and Thomasine Harkins of Canton. A graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens.
