Annie Penland

Waynesville, Annie Geneva Penland, age 91, of 4233 Pigeon Road, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 at her residence. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Hugh and Florence Lenoir York Penland. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lura Penland and Billie Frances Penland and one brother, David "Bud" Penland. Annie loved reading her Bible and was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church. Annie is survived by a sister, Barbara Jean Penland and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Graveside services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Green Hill Cemetery with Reverend Riley Covin officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 Noon prior to services at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
