Waynesville, Annie Lee Ester Payne Presnell, age 87, of the White Oak Community, passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2012. A native of Madison County, she had resided in Haywood County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late, William Harrison Isaac and Gracie Leota Mooneyham Payne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Miles Wade Presnell, who died in 2004; a son, Billy Joe Presnell; one sister; and four brothers. Annie was a member of White Oak Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, and canning. She is survived by two daughters, Cecile Fish and her husband, Ronald, of Waynesville and Annette Chambers and her husband, Don, of the Crabtree Community; one daughter-in-law, Grovene Presnell; one sister, Thelma Rhinehart, of Michigan; one brother, Furman Payne of Greenville, South Carolina; 5 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 17, 2012 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Gary Putnam officiating. Burial will be at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
