Annie Rathbone

Waynesville-Annie Price Rathbone, age 91, of the Panther Creek Community, died Monday September 24, 2007. Born in Cataloochee Valley, she was a lifelong resident of Haywood County and had resided the last two years in Chester, SC with her niece and family. She was the daughter of the late Will and Ivy Franklin Price and was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Rathbone, who died in 1986; three sisters, Florence P. Keltz, Myrtle P. Burris, and Texie Price; and one brother, Jessie E. Price. Mrs. Rathbone was a member of Panther Creek Baptist Church. She is survived by one niece, Ann P. Henry and her husband, Bill, of Chester, SC; one nephew, Willie James Price of Highlands, NJ; and many great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2007 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Ronald Greene officiating. Burial will follow in the Panther Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Henry, Wilford and Clifford Messer, Gary Rathbone, Howell Rathbone and Wayne Stephenson.
