Annie Rector

Waynesville, Annie Nell Brown Rector, age 88, passed away at Mission Hospital on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Born in Jackson County, she had resided in Haywood County for the past six years. She was the daughter of the late Everette Edgerton and Attie Bridges Brown. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Cline Rector, who died in 1994; a sister, Margaret Williams; and two brothers, Malcolm E. Brown and Fredrick. She was a retired employee of Western Carolina Telephone Company and a former employee of Bank of Asheville and Fashion Bug in Asheville. Annie was a member of Allens Creek Baptist Church and loved to be with her family She is survived by a daughter, Jane R. Bowman and her husband, Bruce, of Waynesville and a son, Charles E. Rector and his wife, Mona of Middleburg, Florida; two sisters, Rachel Phillips of Sylva and Madge Truckner of New Bern, North Carolina; six grandchildren, Wendy Maresca and her husband, John, of Ballston Spa, New York, Cassie Lupien and her husband, Errol and Cameron Rector, of Oak Harbor, Washington, Billie Clyde Rector and his wife, Shannon, of Blaine, Washington, Cody Rector of New Britain, Pennsylvania, and Bruce Bowman, Jr. of Lexington, South Carolina; eleven great-grandchildren; and former daughter-in-law, Tonuya Hubbart, of Oak Harbor, Washington. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at Allens Creek Baptist Church with Reverend Eddie Deitz officiating. Burial will follow at Keener Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to services at the church.
