Annie Sellers

Waynesville, NC - Annie Lois Buckles Sellers, age 84, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Autumn Care Nursing Home. Mrs. Sellers was a native of Richmond County, North Carolina, and was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Buckles. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother and sister, as well as her husband, the late Reverend Alfred S. Sellers. Reverend Sellers was pastor of several Baptist churches in Western North Carolina, including Ninevah Baptist Church in Waynesville, Sunrise Baptist Church in West Asheville, East Sylva Baptist Church in Sylva, and Hamburg Baptist Church in Glenville. Mrs. Sellers was his supporting wife throughout their journey until the time of his death in 1985. She was a member of Allens Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Sellers was a loving mother and is survived by her four children; Susan Barron and husband, Max, of Waynesville, Beth Justice of Clyde, Jeff Sellers and wife, Cindy, of Elgin, South Carolina, and Kim Mitchell and husband, Mike, of Greenville, South Carolina. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, David Barron and wife, Anne, Tré Franklin and wife, Brooke, Somer Shelton and husband, Jonathan, Layne Freeman, Colt Sellers, Sydney Freeman, and Payton Mitchell as well as five great grandchildren; and one sister, Ruby Brooks, of Columbia, South Carolina. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 12, 2010 at Green Hill Cemetery with Reverend Eddie Deitz officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Mrs. Sellers' grandsons, David Barron, Tré Franklin, Layne Freeman, Colt Sellers, Sydney Freeman, and Jonathan Shelton. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 p.m. prior to services at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville and at other times, at the home of Susan Barron, 572 Pinewood Drive, Waynesville.
