Mary Annie Robinson Sorrells, 97, of Sorrells Cove Road in the Thickety Community of Clyde died Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at Autumn Care Nursing Home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Asbury and Sarah Holland Robinson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Sorrells, who died in 1988 and a granddaughter, Carole Anne Sorrells. Mrs. Sorrells was a homemaker and the oldest living member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Sue Teaster of Redford, MI and Shelby Jean Holder and her husband, Bruce, of Clyde; two sons, Howard Sorrells and his wife, Penny, of Clyde and Jim Sorrells and his wife, Susan, of Canton; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2006, at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Reverend Bruce Cayton and Reverend Doug Love officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. At other times, the family will be at the home of her son, Howard Sorrells, 625 Sorrells Cove Road, Clyde.
