Annita Marie Sutton Butler, age 56, of Poplar Drive died on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, at MedWest Haywood. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of Ruth Ethel Sutton of Canton and the late Jimmy Sutton, who died in 2007. Annita was the longest tenured employee at Haywood Vocational Opportunities serving as their Director of Human Resources. Annita was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and she touched the lives of all she met. Above all else, she loved her Lord and family. Annita was loved by many and will be missed by all. She was an active member at Allens Creek Baptist Church and sang in the choir. She also enjoyed cooking and painting ceramics. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 36 years, Craig Butler; two sons, Bryan Butler and his wife, Amanda, of Waynesville and Brandon Butler and his wife, Brittany, of Canton; three sisters, Lynn S. Heatherly and her husband, Ed, of Morganton, Ginger Tilley and her husband, Tony, of Canton, and Donna Miller and her husband, Dale, of Canton; three grandchildren, Caden, Hailee, and Raegan Butler. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2011, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Eddie Deitz officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
