Archie Scott

Canton- Archie J. Scott, age 93, of Redland Circle, passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at The Homestead. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Rufus and Liza Robinson Scott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Polly Worley and three brothers, Hildred, Charles and George Scott. Archie was a United States WWII Army veteran serving in the European Theater. He retired from Champion International with 40 years service and attended Beaverdam United Methodist Church. Archie was a devoted husband and father, who loved his family. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Vivian Webb Scott; a daughter, Elaine Donaldson and her husband, Gene; a son, Terry Scott and his wife, Pat, all of Canton; two grandchildren; one great grandchild; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Bill W. Cranfield and Pastor Jackie Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Beaverdam Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
